Well, Alana, here is the pic of my new, improved roll bar with safety glass wind deflector and high third brake light.
And other things......

Cool. thanks.
jooi - have you tried leds for the other rears?

Bill,
Nice job. I thought you would have the Honda logo not an MG.
Thanks for posting it again. How about a repost of your engine bay?

Yeah, have you been able to find the "young punk" in the Honda?

I custom made the setup using a Vicky Brit rollbar that I welded a 1/2" solid bar across the bottom, then followed with a 1/2" "L" piece of iron across to make a rib, that I custom bent a piece of 1/2" strap around the inside perimeter. To this I used a rubber glass mounting "H" strip with chrome stiffener to hold the Triplex safety glass in place. I made the light housing out of 16 gauge iron, and yes there is Bondo here and there. Ran the wiring down through the rollbar and tied into the harness. Really works well to cut down on the wind as well as stiffen my "cosmetic" rollbar.

Bill,
I bought my roll bar with the plan of making a simpler wind deflector. Now I'm freakled out by all of the forum members posting about how I will split my head open on it if rear ended or be "mouse trapped" by it! Any thoughts...

Not only will you be "mouse trapped", but the glass from your rear window will "peppered "in to your skin?

Actually... I love your design and can only assume that you would do to the safety nuts what you would do to the MG owners. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jester.gif

Ya think one of the members is actually Ralph Nader?
I think that by the time the mouse trap is sprung and impacts your noggin. The rest of you will have been through the food precessor.
I say if you like the bar go for it.

I think you my be hearing the raft of jaybird in the near future. Good looking bar with function. Wayne
