Rocker arm assembly

Where did they get those springs, a big block Chevy?
Beyond the fact that they obviously won't work, what kind of seat pressure and installed height do they have?
Jeff

The diameter is 1 1/4'. I am not sure how to measure the spring height, however, I measured from the base of the pedestal = top of the head and got 1 1/8'. ????????????

I hope whoever did the work didn't recut the spring seats on the head too much to make those things fit. Springs should only be about 1 1/8" in diameter. I've got a race ready head here, and the springs measure 1.150" and the retainers are 1.050"
Take it back and make them install things correctly.
Jeff

Thanks Jeff. I was told that this head wasn't going to be too hot. The retainers read @ 1.269

follow Haps post in the other thread.

You have an un-usable head for street use.....as someone has cut the spring pockets for larger diameter springs which are way tooo much spring pressure for street use.

Even tho the head might be decent other wise the pockets wont contain a stock 1.100" dia spring.

Thanks Jerry. I got a new head on the way and am sending this one back. He made a mistake and is happy to get it back. I hope the one that I am getting works well with what I am wanting to do. I'm just glad that Hap was able to recognize what was going on so easily!!
