Robbins Soft Tops

G'day,
I am looking for opinions from people who have bought Robbins soft tops. I am going to buy one during the current Moss sale, though am unsure whether to go for the crush grain, british everflex, or canvas top.

I am not overly concerned with originality, as my car currently doesn't warrant going overboard with that and won't for a few years yet, so I have pretty much ruled out the everflex due to the shorter warranty.

So, the question that remains, is the canvas top worth the extra money spent? My car, although fun to drive, has a few dents and ripples, and paint that is showing its age, I'd call it a 10ft car. I am leaning towards the crush grain top, as investing in the canvas one may be something like putting lipstick on a pig (meant in the nicest possible way).

Does anyone own one of these tops or know someone who does, care to venture an opinion?

Thanks in advance.

I've had both the Robins Everflex and now the canvas top on my BJ8.
I question why you're concerned about warranty. I believe Robins gives a one year warranty on both tops.
Their tops are made from patterns of the original. The quality of the fit is determined by the installer.
Is the canvas worth the extra money? Personal choice for the look is different.
Here's what both tops look like on my car.

I like the everflex personnaly.. It was easier to install. Have a cloth on the Jag..was pain to put on..

If you're not going to restore the car for awhile I wouldn't spend the extra money on a canvas top. I found an original amco top in vinyl on ebay for $60 and it looks and works just fine. I bought it because my BJ7 has a different rear window that was only used on MKII models. Someday I'll buy a new robbins canvas top with a zipper window.
