MGB Road trip!

Did you scare the others away???

On one occasion I was in my Elan and a friend followed in his. Came to a traffic light and a fella in a pick-up beside me rolled his window down and said: "This must be the entire Lotus Club of Tampa Bay!"

Not many of 'em around these parts. I was impressed the guy even knew what they were.

Thinking about the pick-em-up driver you mentioned reminded me of part of a story I came across while reading a fellows journey in his Lotus 7. This Lotus owner was traveling across many states and taking as many back roads as possible. He was spending a night in an out of the way roadside motel with the Lotus parked out front. The next morning as he was prepping the car to get back on the road a local in an old pick-up truck came by and asked if his car was a Caterham?? The Lotus owner was quite surprised that this back woods fellow was even close to recognizing the car but had to answer remorsefully that it was not a Caterham but a Lotus. The back woods fellow gave a perplexed look and asked, "Who makes them" ? :rolleye::rolleye:

Doc - you and I have a couple of things in common - the Alfas and no hair on top. Drove my son to Tampa airport on Saturday and stopped for lunch on the way back at Hangar Restaurant on the airfield in St. Pete, one of our favorite places. Perhaps we could meet there with Randy and any others in the area for lunch. With or without wives or significant others. Wednesdays are half-price burger days (or were).

Not a bad idea!

We'll talk.
