Peter Egan is a favorite of mine and I always read his column "Side Glances" first everytime I get a new R&T issue. He usually has some story about LBCs. March '08 issue just arrived. Page 22 will be of interest to you Bugeye owners but most of us who have restored cars can relate. I wish I had my first car back that I rebuilt. A '62 cloth sunroof VW Beetle. I would not go looking for another one, but I would take my old one back. I had a Fiat X1/9 in college that was a blast and probably made me a better mechanic. I am sure I would recognize these if I ever saw them again.

I think you'll find a lot of Peter Egan fans here. His book (Side Glances) is great!

The first X1/9 I saw was at Lime Rock...a pre-production car. I've never owned one, but I still like them.
I also had a Beetle in college (a '58 with 36 HP). Rolled it.

Thanks for the pictures.
~HERE~ is a collection of my old pictures.

Peter's books are great. I started reading his column in college and have followed him since.

Great collection of memories. I am just now beginning to scan in some of my old photos. Most of my restorations were done before the digital age, so I need to get them converted over.

I haven't sen the article, yet, but I heard he refers to his first racecar which is about a half mile from me, sitting on a trailer, rusting comfortably. Very sad. I, and others, have tried to buy it. Oh well
