Rivergate slave problem

I purchased a Gerard 5 speed kit ( which i love) second hand. Unfortunately its missing the slave cylinder and the PO has a rivergate slave on it. However i cant get there to be free play on the pushrod . I adjust it, get the 1/8" free play between pushrod and fork. Press on clutch, and the free play is absorbed never to return. Eventually i cant back out the slave anymore or the piston falls out(trust me) . The clutch begins to slip once the free play is gone after a few miles.

I have checked master pushrods, if anything i have adjusted to be too small now. I have a newish 3/4 bore MC.

My Rivergate with Datsun 5-speed uses a CNC slave cylinder, the same as my dune buggy with VW transaxle. Rivergate will email you instructions for mounting and adjusting.

I'm attaching the instructions I received from Rivergate which are for the entire transmission lit.
