Sad to hear. Another great one gone.

Wow - that is sad. I remember her in Life with Elizabeth, the Betty White Show, etc, back in the 1950s. The opening "harp" music, the closing "Elizabeth, now aren't you ashamed?". Such a great career.

And what a talented, up-spirited lady.

RIP.

Just saw that - funny, this morning Mrs JP & I were just chattin about her recent interview and her comments about Ryan Reynolds' crush (and his response)

I was saying how much I appreciated people just having fun with each other - and how rare that now seems to be.

Feels like the end of about 3 eras somehow.

RIP

She'd just been highlighted as about to turn 100, too. Vividly recall the harp intro to "Elizabeth" as a kid.

A friend of mine got the opportunity to act with her on "Hot In Cleveland". Jason Kravits may not be a household name, but I'd guarantee you've seen in on TV, usually playing a lawyer or a doctor. Here is his story:

Last season of Hot in Cleveland, a spry 92 year old Betty White kindly granting yet another picture to an adoring fan. I had one scene, in a cafe with Valerie Bertinelli, but Betty made a quick appearance at the end and, with a zinger, buttoned the scene. During a rehearsal, we sat at the same little cafe table for notes. When done, I thought I'd be clever and say as I stood up, "I'm so sorry, I left my wallet at home. Do you mind covering this?" Without missing a beat, she rolled her eyes and sighed, "Great, another one of THOSE." I don't think she ever missed a beat. What a life!

Also, for those who regret that she didn't quite make it to her 100 birthday, on the Hebrew calendar, which is a lunar based calendar, her birthday already passed, so she did, in fact, make it to 100 years old.

" ... so she did, in fact, make it to 100 years old."

I can so see her winking, and saying "told ya I'd make it".
