Richard's Amazing Midget!

A week or two ago at my British Car Club's show in Saratoga, NY I met a local guy that had an ABSOLUTELY amazing '64 MG Midget. He stopped by the house today while he and the wife were out for a drive. He used to work for the NY State Museum and has finished his midget to Concurs standards. The attention to detail is amazing. I snapped some photos to share. I told him about the forum and I hope he stops by to check us out and say "HI"!

I took a bunch of engine photos as a reference for my bugeye as it's such a mess. I showed him my Coker white walls and we had to put them up to his car to take a look!

Thought it's hard to tell, he's having a bit of suspension problems and his car is leaning to the driver side, he hopes to remedy it with new front springs. It was hard for me to find a flaw!

Very Very Nice, I see one thing, but am waiting to hear from Jack,

BEAUTIFUL LBC!

I knew when I saw the engine pics Jack would be waiting in the wings to comment about it.

Only thing jack has to say is he would be happy to park behind that one. It looks preaty perfect from here. I would have to start all over again to acheve that level of prefection.

Hehe, think dip stick should be color of engine and the engine color is wrong as well? Has a 1500 dash? White pipeing on doors and seats?

However, very well exacuted.

Hay, supose Miss Agatha would like a boy friend?

That's the correct dash for a '64, Jack. Both my '64 and '65 look exactly like it. (The dash, that is! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif )

Hmm, thought it was wrong but then I know little about MK IVs.

super sweet...but just can't handle the whites...love em on the Bugeye's but the black walls seem to look best on the later model change....just my opionion...

Funny,
I think the white-walls would look great.
The fact that there might not be that many Spridgets with
white-walls even speaks in their favor.
My two yens worth.

Hap, it's got roll-up windows....so not a Mk1 /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/square.gif

Yeah, I think it's an early MKII with the 1098 engine. He does drive it and drove it last year 4hrs from Albany to Stowe for the British Invasion. He told me he recently decided to go into the concurs competition so he's be changing things back to stock. He also has an original hardtop for it. This year for concurs he told me he would be trailing it up there as he will have it highly detailed!

I do have hi-res photos on my other computer if you want me to repost one. The photos weren't that great as I took them around dusk. But the detail is simply amazing. Such a beautiful car.

I agree of course, now way not to that is is a beautiful job.

However, I think there are a lot of things incorrect if he is going to try to concurs it. But then what the heck do I know of LBCs other than Bugeyes.

John if you took a load more pics and you post them up somewhere let us have the link, would be a good reference!
