Reversing Light Brackets

Does anyone have a photo or part reference of the brackets that secure the reversing lights to the body on a Series II E-Type?

Mine are missing, and I need to source some replacements.

Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

Excuse my ignorance.....you said "brackets", as in plural.
Since I drive a MK2, my knowledge of E type is limited to A) seeing them and B) working on them......but every one I can think of in at least series 1 and 2 has one light mounted to the body section below the license plate with a gasket.

Reverse Lamp assembly (1) C.18724
Reverse lamp gasket (1) 1816
Reverse lamp gasket (1) 1817

Did you mean the housing?
BD20754?

Series 2s have 2 MGB style reverse lamps, mounted on brackets that attach below the bumper. Don't have a parts book handy, but as far as I know, all the brackets are the same.

Hi TOC and Jesse,

The only parts diagram I have found that shows the brackets is

lights

item 65 - which says "Not USA/Canada"!

(Implying that the brackets were different for USA/Canada cars, or that they weren't fitted, or ...)

The light units themselves are the same as on an MGB, so easy to source used/new, but the brackets are harder to pin down.

Update: the brackets are in the XKs Unlimited catalogue as part number BD35787, marked as "USA/CAN only" (so I'm curious what the difference is between these and the ones in the scparts catalogue).

Well judging from the picture the actual bracket is 45.

I have always felt they looked like a cheap after thought and have removed them fromm my series 2 OTS. Along with the the cheap sunvisors...they block my vision anyway!!

I have thought and thought about this.
I recall seeing one a while back that had pod lights on brackets...looked like backup lights off an old VW Bug that clipped to the bumper brackets.
Most have had the flush mount, single, under the license plate, as the drawings shows just below and slightly to the right of the bracket we seem to be looking for.

I'll have to look more closely next E I see (and I do run into them around here).

Funny....the JCNA Judging Guides for the 1, 1.5 and 2 series, at least, do not even MENTION reverse lights.....so, if you're removed them, they cannot judge your car on lack thereof, as they left them out of their guides!

It's all a bit peculiar. According to George Camp over on the JCNA forum, the lights aren't in fact MGB types after all. The brackets mount as Jesse says - confirmed by a photo that Richard Liggett sent me. My puzzlement now is what the other two holes are for next to the reverse light wire hole - I had assumed they were for mounting the bracket!

There are two different styles. Check yours by looking at the number plate lamp..if you see a pair of 3/16 holes on each side of the lamp, then you have the earily type.
