Reverse Warning Switch - Newie

First I want to say fantasic forum guys. Anyway please help me somene. Hi I am now a proud owner of a '71 1275cc sprite, but my reverse warning light is operated by a non-standard switch on the dash board, which means i either forget to turn it off or sometimes i dont turn it on in the first place (which is even worse). Now i know that there is ment to be a switch on the tranny. But i do not know where it bolts on to. Can anybody help?

The swtich is bolted onto the tranny on the right side of the tower pointing parallel to the drive train. They are hard to find as they are out of production. There is a second switch on the trans for the interlock/seatbelt buzzer. This switch is available in buckets but it is a smaller diameter of the one you need. Same switch in length and operation. I considered machining the new switch with a sleeve to fit the larger diameter hole but found a switch from a dealer on Ebay.

On this topic, I removed my reverse light switch on my (new to the car, but never rebuilt 30 y.o.) transmission while it was out of the car. However, now I seem to have a bit of trouble getting it back in, as the hole that is cut in the tunnel for this exact purpose seems poorly placed. I can't seem to quite get the switch in because the hole isn't located properly. Anyone have any advice?
