Retro Radio

Decided to install a radio in my 70 B-GT for our 1500 mile round trip to Dillard GA. Bought a retro sound radio and since I just finished the body/paint work and didn't want an external antennae installed an amplified antennae. The radio was very easy to install and was as advertised. I put in 2 Pioneer rear speakers # TS-G1044R. They mounted behind the seats w/o any cutting, just some minor body panel filing to fit. I mounted the antennae above the mirror on the front windshield and used the power antennae lead to provide 12v power to the amplified antennae. The radio reception is great and it made our trip to Dillard much more enjoyable.
I'd recommend this radio/antennae set up.

Nice, Ralph! NO HOLES!!

WOW! I love it! My MGB has cutouts and the kids put in this crazy Sony stereo with removable face plate, etc for this car. I turned it on and relaized none of the radio stations came in then relaized...holy [censored]..where's the antenna??? lol...I guess I need to buy one and from what I read on here, the antennas were installed "later" by the dealers so I guess I have to consider this or cutting a hole?

I'm very happy w/ the amplified antennae and the reception is very good. Proved that while driving to Dillard, GA!! You do need a 12v power source and it should turn on/off with the radio. That's why the power antennae lead worked. When the radio is off with the accessory switch or turrned off the antennae power is off. It measures anout 14" in length and fits nicely behind the rear view mirror. Bought mine on ebay for a couple of bucks.

very cool..i'll keep my eyes peeled. ty!
