Oops!
I hit the post button before I was ready to post.
I have just replaced the main seal in the TR3 and also finished assembling the TR250 motor. It is great having the time to do the fun things in life..
I retired a little over a year ago and have been soooo busy. It is almost like I have a job. Plus my wife told me to have the TR3A ready for Triumphfest in October. It is going to be close. I like retirement, but when you start spending money on parts, there is nobody but you to put money back into the account. Still, on this car I am doing the body and paint work and I never would have started that project while I was still working.
Jerry
I think I saw your car at the strippers late last year. If you are going to be done by Triumphfest, you are kicking butt!! Thank goodness the TR3 is not a real complex car. Doing the paint and body work is a JOB on it's own. I would like to see your project when convient.. I am only one hour away.
Dan You give me something to look forward too. Got called out last night a 2:00 am and had to start work again at 6:00 am. Hopefully I be able to drive out in a few weeks as the B/E is nearly done then back to work on Statler. Paul
Dan:
That's where I am with the TR6. Just need to move the engine from the stand to the hoist and drop her in. Just retired mid-June and find I have so little time now. Must be the Honey-Do's getting in the way. The missus is still working and not real enthused about me having two sports cars and being able to sleep in, in the a.m. Jeez, I have to get up twice a week and fire up the lawn tractor just to keep the place looking nice for her. Not easy - the **** beer holder vibrated off the tractor and it took me a couple days and a 24 case just to fix that problem. Then a bulb burned out on the driveway post. I put penetrating oil on the nuts but it took two days to find the oil so I had to clean up my garage before I took on anything more stressful. She said if I didn't smarten up she'd go home to her Mother. Told her she didn't have to go too far - she practically lives in our kitchen. Told her that I'm just trying to cope with retirement right now and don't need more stress, but I'll get through it somehow!
Cheers,
Dan: You can say that again! I was made redundant in 2009, but with the help of an excellent attorney got a great settlement. We have always been frugal so with pension plus retirement savings and especially Medicare we're doing fine!
Color me green with envy. I am looking at a few more years I think but at least we are in the planning stages. Just looked at some plans in fact for a play garage for when the time comes. Can't wait!
I had one of those yellow hoists in my garage for two months after my recent valve job. Finally "persuaded" the owner to roll it away. Don't want to be reminded of pulling the head again and tired of having to work around that thing.
Yea! The hoist is my neighbor's I have had it for about 9 months and he want's me to keep it as long as possible. On the other hand my wife want's it out of here as soon as possible. What to do?
I will be installing the 250 motor in the redone frame soon, so after that, it should be gone.
I retired 6 years ago next month, boy has it gone fast. I sometimes feel that I didn't retire but just changed jobs. Good thing is the hours, nothing starts until 9/10 am. Can't even keep up with the day of the week. Did I mention I'm on the balcony at the beach right now watching the girls walk by.
That's because I gave up trying to attach it.
For some reason when I double clicked it to make it a little bigger, the next part didn't show correctly
I'll try again
