I have compiled a list of vendors I used while doing my frame off on my 70 TR-6 and thought it would be a good thing to share. I wish I'd had such a list of places that someone had used and were happy with the quality of their work. The following shops were excellent to work with and I've included a pricing guide where I could. Hope this is of some help to those starting or working on restoration projects.

American Stitches, TX - Leather steering wheel refurb (272.00), Mesquite, TX (972) 613-2914

Southern Electronics, VA - British Leyland radio repair (weak reception in my case) (105.00), (804) 423-1110

Multi Media Stripping, PA - Complete platic bead stripping of my car to include motor compartment (motor was removed) and trunk and steam cleaning underside of car (987.50) (724) 528-8120

Swain Technologies, NY - Thermal coating of exhaust manifold, guaranteed for life of car, beautiful work!! (165.00) (585)-889-2787

Diamond Back Classics, SC - Red Line tires with modern casings, look like the originals but handle like a modern day tire, and tubeless! (643.00 for set of 4) (888)-922-1642

Antique Auto Battery, OH - Lucas style tar top battery case with a maint free battery inside. Looks great! (275.00) (800) 426-7580

Pauls Chrome Plating, PA - beautiful show chrome work. I had both tail light assemblies, gas cap, trunk lock cylinder and a few misc bolts, total was $520.00 (724) 538-3367

Mark,
Keep all your receipts and NEVER add them up, never use your real name on a forum and never, never let your wife read this forum again.

She was the one that talked me into buying the 6 in the first place!! We looked at leftover 1976 models in 77. Her father told her no way was he going to work on a British car, so she bought a new Celica instead. I found this car in 1990 and bought it from a navigator in my C-130 flying squadron at Pope AFB. It started life in Monerey CA, then to NC, and then to me. Paid 700 dollars for it, a real steal even back in 1990! My wife drives a Z-3 so she pretty much leaves the TR alone these days........

That was a good deal. I've found the lack of synchro 1st gear of my TR3 keeps the wife out of the driver seat. I wonder if you ever gave me a ride from 'green ramp'?

I flew alot of Army drop training sorties out of Green Ramp. I flew C-130's at Pope from 88 to 91 and again from 95 thru when I retired in Feb of 99. I miss the USAF flying, don't really miss the paperwork!!

Pretty good chance you gave me a ride to one of the DZ's. I was the Special Forces Training Group CSM (1st SWTG (A)) from 96 thru 98. I retired in 03 after 33 years - I miss it so much I'd even take the paperwork. Pat
