TR6 Replacing Vacuum Retard Unit

Hi folks. My 22D distributor vacuum doesn't seem to be working. Used a vacuum tester and it didn't hold or move the plate. I have a new one, Moss 560-157, to replace it. I see how to get the spring off looking down at it and watching a similar Youtube video for a TR4, which has a screw on the other end to release it. My 72 TR6 doesn't have a screw, so I assume there is something down inside to release it. Or do I just need some pressure or a rubber hammer to knock it loose?

Just wanted to know before I tackle it. Any help would be appreciated.

There is a small roll pin that holds the module with it's spring in place in the body of the distributor.
Look close and you'll see 2 holes..one is empty and that was where the roll pin was originally with the RETARD module.
The hole with the roll pin installed was made when the ADVANCE module replaced the RETARD.
This ADVANCE module, btw doesn't use a spring for pulling the plate CCW, it uses an 'arm" to push it CW

Thanks poolboy. Mine actually only has one pin and one hole. I've got top internals out and the spring off. Any tips on what to use to get the pin out? It's so tiny! I was thinking a small nail, cut the end of it off to make it flat. Any other suggestions?

They make roll pin 'punches' (drifts) that small. Mike, but your idea could work .

Good news. I found a punch in the toolbox and got it started. Used a small nail to finish it through. Then put the new vacuum in and hammered it home!
