Replacement seat belts

Can anyone direct me to some moderately priced seat belts for a 74 1/2 MGB? The ones at Moss Motors are $229.

Thanks,
DDF

Debbie, I'm pretty sure that from 1974 1/2, the seat belt mounts are the same up to and including 1980. The most important message you could receive now is, how much is your life worth? Don't use old belts, because their around 30 years old and have weakened by age and without air bags, that belt is all we have. Make sure you buy belts that are approved. I know they are pricey, BUT!! Contact Tony at https://www.theautoist.com and he could probably advise you on the proper belts for your car. He'll also beat the Moss price.

OR, a Victoria British set is $190.00 ( Retractable ).

If you can find a SCCA racer, their belts have a 3 year life and they have to replace them. Most will let you have them for very little if not actually give them to a good home.

Regarding the belts Mickey posted the link to above....

I have not bought from these guys but my friend bought a set of belts from them for his Mk2 Sprite. He felt it was time to replace the old belts and wanted something similar. These belts are generic. The belts he got were NOT what he expected but the quality appeared acceptable, the look was OK, and the price was right.

If you want original looking parts, these aren't for you. If you want new, safer belts and don't want to spend $300, these generic belts are not a bad option.

While we're on the topic, can any of you recommend good 5-point harnesses for a BGT?

https://wescoperformance.stores.yahoo.net/resebe.html They are 65 dollars a peice and work fantastic and are about as close to the stock belts as you can come. You want the set for the roadster.

Stewart, That is a very nice seat belt. Not only that it looks good, but the fact that you don't have to buy a right or left side reel assembly makes it ideal for LBCs. The right and left individual reels are larger and sometimes interfere with putting the top down. The Wesco reel seems smaller and uncluttered. Smaller is good. PJ
