Hi folks,
Anyone have any recommendations for where to purchase Jag Etype 2+2 body sheet metal, panels etc? I'm gearing up to do the Mig & Plasma dance. Thanks for any replies.
Try SNG Barratt's up in New Hampshire. They are probably the closest and the least expensive for shipping. Robey's will most likely have it in stock. Manner's is a great place for parts, but you will have to mortgage the E-Type to pay the shipping costs and in this case the Duty.
I just received a new Jaguar catalogue from Moss Motors and one from Terry's Jaguar. I noticed that they (especially Terry's Jaguar) had almost everything for the XK bodies and almost nothing for the XJ's, or at least the panels I needed. Both suppliers have online Catalogues with prices, you may want to check them for comparison with the other vendors mentioned above. By the way, I haven't received their catalogue yet, but have seen the online version of XK's Unlimited at www.xksunlimited.com . They are very reasonable on their XJ prices and they specialize in XK restoration parts and services... definitely check them out before buying elsewhere... very helpful sales staff as well.
Just after I posted about XK's Unlimited, I checked their site... Here is the link dedicated to the XKE 2+2, but check the entire XKE catalogue, there is so much more. Hope this helps. Call their number to request a free paper copy of the Jaguar Master Catalogue, there may also be a link on the homepage for the request....
Ken,
No problem, let us all know where you find the best deal. If you run across a rear underbody supplier for the Series III XJ's, please let me know. Still having trouble offering the rusty thing as a take-a-part car.. got too attached to be reasonable. Good luck on your search.
