Replace 1500 Door Fuzzy Weather Seal

I am replacing the fuzzy weather seals on the doors of my Spitfire. The replacement seals I got from Victoria British have a chrome strip only on one edge while the old seals had a chrome strip on both edges. Should the chrome/metal edge of the new strip be placed up so that the chrome line is visible adjacent to the window (like it looked originally)or should the strip be placed down and provide a better locking edge into the retainer clips? I have read a couple of places previously in old posts where the chrome/metal edge was placed down in several TR-6 installations. I like the look of the chrome/metal edge but wondered if it mattered. I thought they left the lower metal edge off to cheapen the price.

Thanks,
Gary

Gary, I think you will get a better snap on the clip with the chrome strip down and a cleaner look on the top of the door.

I am replacing the inner waist seals- the fuzzy seal on the inside of the door. I agree that the metal edge goes down. The clips I have will not allow any other way to mount the seal.

T.T.
