TR4/4A Removing Rear Differential Seal--Solid Axle

I have a small puller but the oil seal seems stuck, and I'm afraid the feet of my puller might be slotted behind a cast iron lip inside the differential housing. Anyone have advice on removing that seal, and whether my fear about there being a lip is valid.

Are you talking about the oil seal for the half shafts, or the pinion seal?

IIRC the ledge behind the pinion seal doesn't have a lip on the other side (the bore just gets smaller), but I don't recall what the side seal looks like.
