Removing modern radio

So the B has a modern radio in the dash spot -- and it needs to go. Stupid thing beeps at me every time I shut the car off, and just looks wrong to me.

Any tips on the best way to pull that sucker out? Do I need to remove the speaker console below the dash? Not much room to maneuver back there. Makes working behind the Bugeye dash seem almost spacious.

Drew, if that needs a home in another MGB, I'll take it....

If I can figure out how to get it out of the car, it's yours.

Disconnect the battery first. It's easy to short something when you're fighting to get a big metal box out from behind the dash. Remove whatever is holding it in (faceplate, bracket, etc) and remove from rear. With I could offer more specific advise but it's one of those jobs where each one is different.

When you're done, go get an MG logo blanking plate and enjoy the exhaust note.

Thanks, guys. I've already got the blanking plate on hand.
