Krcflyer, it'd be prudent at this point to remove the regulator. You can't see into the gear when it's in the door. If the gear is full of dried up grease, dirt or anything that restricts free movement, that will be one of the areas why the widow doesn't work as smoothy and as effortlessly as it should. Plus you can see the condition of the gears.
Assuming since you're waiting for the window glazing, you have the widow out of the car.
To remove the window winder assembly (regulator)...
Remove the forward screw or bolt on the door glass bracket stop and loosen the rear rear screw/bolt. (You don't need to remove that bracket, just let it hang by the rear bolt/screw). Remove the 4 regulator screws and pull/slide the regulator out. Easy Peezy.
