Remove the heater?

So, how many of you have removed your heater? Really, is this a car that you want to use anytime a heater is needed??? Seems that removing the heater would make the engine compartment that much cleaner...

Opinions?

I removed mine, and don't miss it.
I don't think it makes the bay any cleaner, it just makes it look like the heater is missing. I found that it just exposed slightly corroded areas where either the battery or the heater had leaked and left a mess.

I drove mine without the heater hooked in for quite some time,..i missed the demisters! When its slightly foggy out a little heat to the windscreen makes all the difference.

I use the heat in mine quite often. I love to drive the car on Fall days, and in the morning that little bit of heat makes a big difference. And... as Bill mentions, it is very helpful in demisting the windscreen.

Tunebug's heater was removed before I bought him -- I'll be adding one back when I get a chance to hunt one down.

Mine is long gone... Lots more room for the battery, and it's a summer-only car. Passenger still gets some heat from the headers under their feet!

Removed mine. Don't really need a heater in Arizona. I cut a piece of aluminum diamond plate to fit under the battery and to fill the area. Also works to block the port that removing the heater leaves behind.

We can have some cool days here in S. Cal, and a little warm air across the knees is welcome. I like having it, even though it probably wouldn't be of much use anywhere there is a real winter.
