My guess would be via USAF.
 
Maybe, but the car came with the orginal service book showing it was sold by Hollywood Motors to a Mr. Miller who lived in LA. A few other receipts indicate he owned it until at least 1975 when he had a new muffler fitted for $29.00 dollars.

Do you know if there were any other unique features to the european cars - like speedos in KM (mine is in Miles) or...?
 
Some early euro cars had steering column locks and different serial number plates with car weights on them in certain countrys. 2 color lens also on the park and tail lamps.
