The only wires I didn't replace on the Tunebug were battery->switch/solenoid->starter, battery->ground, and fuel tank sender. Fuel gauge doesn't work, but that's for later. Ground is fine. So it figures that the one left would be a problem. Last month Tunebug wouldn't start, and I eventually traced it to a bit of contact between the little bit of bare wire on the starter end of the cable and the starter housing. Removed the cable, carefully wrapped it in electrical tape to provide insulation, and reinstalled. Worked great until last week.
You guessed it, same problem. Should have fixed it right the first time. I've got some of that paint-on "electical tape" stuff, should have used it the first time to get a good insulating layer. Serves me right, now I have to pull a whole bunch of stuff out of the way to get to the cable.
So the moral of the story is to just fix it right the first time, every time! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/blush.gif
