I live in England and just back from a trip to Loch Ewe in Nothwest Scotland.
I like to pay my respects at any war graves I see.
I was particularly moved by this war memorial in such a very small community.
The poppies are hand crocheted and sewn onto a fishing net and draped over the memorial.
Lock ewe was the main hub ( the loch was chain netted to protect it from U-boat attack) for the artic convoys to supply aid to Russia ‘41 to ‘44
Oh what short memories they have
I’m glad I had a quiet moment to reflect on the artic hardship from the weather and the probable German attack from U-boats under the sea, warships on the surface and air attack.
Brave souls.
