Reinstalling oil pressure gauge in a BJ8

Hello all,

I am in the process of reinstalling my refurbished dash. I have done this before on my previous Healey where, with respect to my oil pressure gauge, I simply just reattached it to the rigid connection. Oil pressure read the same as before I disconnected the gauge.

I have tried to find older posts on this subject but so far to no avail, and was just curious if I should just reattach the gauge and be done with it.

Or, if draining is recommended, maybe first start the engine and be ready to capture any spewing oil at the exposed end first.

Good idea? Any additional thoughts?

Thanks,

Paul

I did nothing special to ours either, just hooked it up and ran the engine. No bleeding or anything special needed.
