Reinforcing plates for front suspension problem

Well I try to do things right but funny how things don't work out. I had the reinforcing plates welded in on the front lower A frame mounts including the back plates. Because there are two holes originally (front to back) I did not remember which side (front hole or back hole) to use to mount the bracket I called TRF and he said to use the back hole. So I drilled the new hole to align below the top hole for the new 2 stud TR6 bracket. Now my problem. With the new reinforcing plates welded in my brackets rub going in against the bracket and using the back hole next to the high reinforcing bracket would not allow clearance for the bolt head or the nut even if I do elongate the hole sideways to get the bracket to go in freely. Did TRF tell me correctly to use the back hole? Using the front hole solves the problem I believe. Has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions?
