Registering a car with the DVLA UK

I guess there's a few of you out there that have had to register your Healey with the DVLA for the first time, i had a look at the V55 form they mention and there's numerous boxes on it for width,max net power,length etc, do these all need filling in before submitting.
I have done the easy bit and have my MOT but need to just get the car insured.

Any experience on filling out these forms would be good.

Funnily enough I am about at the same point, I have my car booked on a dyno on the 9th, then will get it Mot'd.

I actually rang the DVLA yesterday for the V55, so have not recieved it yet.

Let me know how you get on, I dont believe you have to take the car to your local centre, its all done by post unless they ask to see it?

Any info please frankenhealey?

Speaking to someone today he says you have to take all the paperwork into your local DVLA office and they check through it they then may send someone out to check all the chasis numbers etc tie up.
Someone else said that at the DVLA office it's a ticket system so you get your number and wait your turn (so be prepaired for a wait), will double check with the head office before i go in to see exactly whats needed.

That brings back memories of when I registered my V8. The ticket system is like the deli counter at Tesco's. Try to get there very early before it opens as there is usually a queue. Then you sit with an interesting subset of humanity for ages. Take a book and a sense of humour.
