Wow, the magnet test! That's neat! Didn't see any the rockers tho... Just means they pop-rivited something metal under the bondo. Let's see a speaker stick! Nice looking car though, a bit cheesy on the advertising and kinda confusing with the interior colors. Guy must of liked red! What's the story?
Quick fix floor pans - looks like he glued in some kind of metal over the hole. Naassty, rusty frame. Hmmm, no windshield wipers. Es'plain that to the inspectors. Must be "for offroad use only".
<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:]Do you guys really think that frame rust is sooooo bad? Looks like of surface to me.[/QUOTE]
Sheesh, for that money they coulda spent $5 on a couple rattle cans of blackpaint! See your points tho...
It's not so much that the frame is wasted away with rust. Yes, all frames rust. But the amount of bling put into that car with an engine that doesn't belong in there scares me. I ask, what does the diff mounts, and the swing arm mount, and the front suspension look like if the guy put no effort into improving his frame. I realize the whole thing doesn't show, but it gives you a good idea what it might look like if you were to really investigate. If I were looking to buy such a car, I would dig really deep into the skeleton to see what lies beneath. I would be very surprised if the differential were upgraded to handle that much torque.
Agree with all, that things are not always as they seem. I for one get very upset when you tell me the guy spent $10 thousand or more and he couldn't be bothered to touch up the frame while all was out and them put in the wrong seats with no head rest, which surely you need with 350HP jerking your neck back and then the red dash put me off a bit, but the final straw is the $40 worth of fuzzy door seal that was not put on and he left the old rotten stuff on. Give me a brake!!!!
Kevved is derived from the slang "kev," typically describing a gangly yoof who wears branded sportswear, baseball cap etc - baseball caps have a different following in the UK. A "kev" will drive a "kev car," in this case usually a hot-hatch that has been "kevved-up" with alloys, spoilers, body kit, sound system and performance engine parts.
It's the small details like the wrong screws in the tail lights and the condition of the rubber door window rubbers that make me suspicious about the quality of the job. Don't suppose they could have double-sided tape under those magnets do you?!
Or the poor fit of the fenders to the sills makes one wonder how they were repaired/replaced. Or the bolts through the floor and frame holding who knows what down.
