As a die hard Yankees fan, I try to irritate every Sox fan I meet:smile:...all in good fun of course. Yesterday at my shop my good pal Bill Richter(from Bostom) was helping me with my 911 and also tinkering on his 71 BGT we're re-doing when I noticed his jacket...blue with Redf Sox stuff all over it. I poked fun and blah blah blah...told him Boston was sunk etc. Then I watched the game last nite. I think it was one of the best games I've ever seen and will admit to him that the team has a huge heart....then I'll go buy him lunch. What a comeback.

Blah blah blah - Go Yankees err I mean Tampa Bay.
Yes quite a comeback though. It would have been nice if the Rays beat the Sox on their own territory. At least they will beat them in Tampa and really make them Sox fans feel real good.

SWMBO and I met a scout with the Rays in a hotel bar after the Brewers' final loss to the Phillies a couple of weeks ago. He had been in town scouting the game, as the Rays were anticipating meeting the winner of that game, and we struck up a conversation with him. A really nice guy, no airs or graces, just down-to-earth. He was careful to keep his shirt with the Rays' logo covered with a sweater.

Because of that encounter, and also because I am totally ambivalent about baseball, I am rooting for Tampa. No other reason.

You gotta root for Tampa. After all they had the worst record in baseball in 2006 and 2007. They brought up a bunch of young players from the minors and have done wonders with them.

I can root for them since the Brewers got beat.

I heard that the entire Rays payroll was less than Derek Jeters. I'm not sure how true that is, but all those zeros on the Sox and Yankees pay checks do not imply quality.
I watched that game last night, and was sad for losing a 7 run game.
Go Rays!

Jeter gets 21,6. the pitching staff on the Rays alone make 28,7 and you still need to add up the balance of the team.

I was sure as you know what that while watching the game in the 7th. last night, I was two innings away from celebrating. Guess not but still - Go Rays.
