Well all the suggestions were right on and thanks again to all that responded to my questions and concerns on that darn red light. New started being installed as we speak. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/driving.gif I have a new question. Has anyone out there (I’m sure there are a ton) installed a new roof. I have the old frame which I am cleaning up and having it chromed. Is it a big deal? I was told it was fairly simple as long as you do it on a nice sunny day. What ever that means?? Any suggestions or tips?
Thanks, Al.: cheers:

Yep mgbnew; It means that the "Roof's" -{Hood's} material will become flexible enough in warm sunlight for you to work it easily.---Keoke

Classic Motorsports did an article earlier this summer with tips & tricks for installing new tops. I didn't keep the magazine but you may be able to Google to find out which issue it was in and ask members here if anyone has a copy of it.

I wouldn't have the frame chromed, it takes a beating in normal use, I don't think the chrome will last. Doesn't show anyway, a good paint job will suffice.
FWIW

Thanks for the info. Your right I will clean it and paint. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cheers.gif

Be sure that you take care when mounting your new top to the front header. Both of mine had PO's mods to fix(?) the top from coming off.
One of them had marine glue holding it down along with the header seal (lovely snot green bead was a dead give away) and the other they used some generic rivets to hold it to the header and it newer went on the same way twice.
I also check the rivets that hold the frame together. If there is too much side to side play they don't operate well.
I think I bought a kit from Victoria British when I redid one of them but that was about 3 years ago.
I'm experimenting with a custom landau type top. ( Kind of like the Porshe 914 removable top. ) but the prototype is giving me fits. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/pukeface.gif

Thanks for the heads up and advice.
