Recommended Tire Size?

The previous owner of my BJ8 installed 195/75 tires. Since they were brand new I kept them. The only problem is the bottom of the rear fenders will touch the tire if you attempt to jack up th car by the frame, so you must use the axle. They look good, but I would recommend going to something smaller.

Jim,

I have Yokohama A-321 VR 185/70/15 tires on my car. They don't rub and the handle great, but my car has an HD suspension and rides a little higher than others and doesn't travel up and down as much. The sidewalls are outside the fenders at the top.

Jim,

I have 185/70s on my BN4 and are very pleased with them. You can see how they fit the wheel wells in the Member's Gallery page (Mine's the BRG with the roll bar and crome wheels). I've not had any rubbing. My rear springs are new, and the front has been lowered about 3/4" .

I'd appreciate input on tire selections for a Phase I BJ8. I'm leaning toward 185/70's but have been told that the higher profile 185x15 fits the wheel well better and gives better ground clearance. Other comments? More prone to rubbing on lock to lock turns?
Thanks Jim Mac

I have Michelin ZX 165/15 on a 60 BT7.
