TR2/3/3A Recommended Oil Filter Cartridge for Purolator

I'd appreciate knowing what oil filter cartridges folks currently recommend for use on their TR3/TR3B with the original Purolator Oil Filter Canister. I've been using the Classic Gold but I think they are no longer popular. I know some use Wix 51302 or NAPA Gold 1516. I checked a few auto parts websites as well as Amazon for the Wix 51302, and they said that it does not fit a TR3B. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

1960 TR3, I used the Wix 51302, just changed oil and filter in October, I purchased the filter on Amazon in summer 2023. I had used the same filter in 2021.

Usually Wix...because I trust Wix filters and they are readily available at O Reilly's and Auto Zone.

The Wix website states that the #51302 oil cartridge comes with 3 gaskets (see below). Can anyone tell me which one is best and how to identify it with the naked eye? I assume they are not color coded.

Gasket Diameters:

Number
O.D.
I.D.
Thk.
15434 Packed3.375 (86)*2.937 (75)*0.203 (5)*
15122 Packed3.156 (80)*2.916 (74)*0.125 (3)*
15149 Packed3.078 (78)*2.906 (74)*0.175 (4)*

Also, is it true that the NAPA Gold 1516 is made by Wix ? Should I avoid the Classis Gold ?

Thanks.

The important thing is to be sure to remove the old gasket from the groove in the filter head. Use whichever one that will fit easily into the groove in the head. The advantage to canister is you get to easily look over the filter for metal. I used to think it was messier, but after changing it for a couple decades, I find the spin-on just as messy.

And yet there was a day,(1969) that the new seal blew out and I oiled all of Sean st. The upside was
the front suspension didn't squeak for a year.......
