TR2/3/3A rebuilt TR3 engine on Ebay

This could be a good deal. After what happen to me when I bought a never be run TRF rebuilt motor sealed in the box for 3 years. I would still tear it down inspect and clean out every passageway you can. I had to overhaul the motor with only a few miles on it after installed in my car.

The trouble with this type of thing is that you really never know unless the guy has the receipts with the engine number on them.

I wonder how he turns the engine every month since there is not flywheel and no front pulley. Maybe a prybar on the flywheel bolts?

I agree with Don that, IF you get it for the right price (which for an undocumented engine should be less the the opening bid IMO), you'd be best to buy a head set and tear off the head, timing cover and oil pan for inspection before running the thing.

I contacted the seller as the engine is so close to me. This is the seller response when I asked about who rebuilt the engine.

"Hi, the engine was rebuilt by Dave Deigh of Deigh's automotive in Chico. Dave specialized in vintage auto restoration and engine rebuilding. His shop closed about 8 years ago and was located on Park avenue. The engine is in Paradise and I will bring it back to Grass Valley this Sunday.
