I had another thread concerning this issue, but I was unable to locate it. Anyway I rebuilt my drivers side seat on my 74' Midget (we have owned the car for 30 years.) and took it out for the first time this year Saturday.
e live in the frozen tundra of the north east where life is only worth living for 4 or 5 months a year.
Any way, I had previously installed a heater into the seat and that did help my back, but in general the seat was the least comfortable of the 5 cars we own. So I rebuilt the main support of the seat by removing the webbing and running metal rods about 1/4 thick and then welded them in place. both front to back and left to right. 3 front to back and 2 left two right. Then I replace the seat foam. Then I purchased and installed and lumbar support with one of those pump/balls. The seat remained heated.
In conclusion the seat was surprising comfortable and when I needed a change the air bladder did it's job. Also for the record I have 5 fractured vertebra and my back pain is constant. The drugs do little.
