Rebuilt my master cylinder today.

Well I ordered the rebuild kit from Moss for the brake master cylinder. Good kit but no instalation instructions come with it. Thankfully I had a Haynes manual for my 1976 Midget that basically said take it apart and put it back together oposite. But it did have the exploded diagrams and nothing in the kit was shaped different from the stock parts in there it seemed. The hardest part was getting that stupid nylon washer out. I ended up melting it slightly, well alot, with a torch and using a dental pick to pull it's remains out. The next problem I had was the circlips in there. I ended up getting creative with my picks again to pull the inner one out, snapping a pick in the process. Finally the last problem was the pin that holds the center bits together. If you don't have a perfect punch for that pin and a spare set of hands you are not getting it out. After cleaning it up, I put it al back together with the new pieces and it went together easy. I used a 3/4" long socket to tap the new nylon washer insert in and that worked fine. Hopefully this has fixed it and now I won't show up with brake fluid all over my feet anymore.
