Hi gang, I did a search and didn't come up with the answer. I rebuilt a 72 - 1800 engine about 12 months ago. Before I start the engine I would like to pump oil through-out the engine. I have worked on GM engines and you can do this through the Distributer hole with a drill. Is there a way to pump oil on a 1800 with-out turning over the engine? If not, what should I do before starting the engine? My goal is to have a driveable car by Aug-2010.

Barry, when I rebuilt the "B" engine, I made an adapter to attach to the oil pressure line at the block and pumped about a quart through it. But, I also pre-lubed all the bearings during assembly, including the cam with a pre-lube coating from Eastwood. Worked for me and no cam scuffing. PJ
