Rebuild is finished!

After an off-track "incident" 3 years ago I have finally finished rebuilding my damaged TR4a.
This involved purchasing a rust-free donor car rather than trying to straighten my damaged chassis, as this also gave me a better inner tub to work with, and included pieces like a grille and bumpers which I needed anyway. The bottom line was I ended up with a better car for a bit more money.
It was a complete rebuild from the bare frame up, using as much of my original car as I could, and another car was rebuilt on the basis of my old inner tub, so there is not one less TR4a in the world, in fact there is one more!
I used a professional paint shop to sand blast and paint the body and all bolt-on panels, but did all the assembly myself, bought new trim as needed, new radiator and fan (it was a front end hit), and new soft top and carpet set.

Although I am a bit nervous, I am really looking forward to getting the car back, even though the Spitfire we bought to substitute has been a great little car in the meantime, and I will regret selling it.

Thanks to all who offered advice and encouragement along the way!
Simon.

Good to hear its back.. I recall when the incident took it off the road.

We have local fellow going thru a nearly identical process (using a donor car for half a frame and much sheet metal) to save his TR4 that was rear-ended by a Ford Expedition (or Excursion, whichever is the big one). He had 700K on that TR4 so, like you, he was determined that it be saved.

I have tried to create an album at photobucket (not good with computers). I think you can search by SimonR_photo and the subtitle TR4a rebuild.
Thanks, Simon.
