Rear wheel cylinder retaining clip

I've heard mention of a tool for installing the rear brake cylinder retaining clip, anyone know where can I get one?
Any tips on removing, replacing and refitting the rear wheel cylinders?

I always do it with the backing plate off the car - then I can get enough wiggle room to push the clip on from the back side.

Bob, Victoria British also sells them. P/N 17-886.
The two that I bought were in the original Lockheed boxes.
They work wonderfully.

I'm soo cheap... I've always just ~struggled~ new clips into place with patience and a screwdriver.

Somebody gimme a slap. I think NOTHING of spending looong dollars on a book about Lotus twincams. sheesh.

I have started rebuliding the cylinders in place. If a visual inspection shows no problems, I use a brake cylinder hone (brake fluid as a lubricant)to clean the surfaces. Then I install the old pistons, and new seals. If I have the pistons all the way in, it takes almost no bleeding to finish the job.

Hey doc... Smack me too... I'd rather have an expensive book about a classic twincam motor too. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

But then I've successfully replaced headgaskets on a modern FI SOHC v-6 engine with not much more than a common $40 toolkit from sears. Thinking outside the box has always works for me. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yeah, it was designed by humans (as far as we know), so what's th' big deal? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/devilgrin.gif

I've gone thru Honda Civic tranny input shaft bearings to Ford 3.8 headgasket R&R with Braille as the M.O. NO COMEBACKS!

Volvo (Aisin) auto-transmissions are where I draw the line: "Box-O-Tricks" /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
