Rear view mirror

[ QUOTE ]
I have never had a fender mounted rear view mirror on my BJ8. With the traffic what it is these days, I would like to mount one. What is the recommended style and location for best visbility?

Sarge, hope you haven't made your decision yet. There are other alternative's. I've seen dash mounted rear view mirror extensions (some have a clock inside, neat) which would allow you to see over the conv. top. Also, I've heard of a Denis Welch mirror that fastens to the windshield top and hangs down, similar to a MGB. For side mirrors, if you really feel you need them there are windshield mountable types that can be removed. Fender mirrors could of been ordered from the factory and were installed in line with the center of the wheel knockoffs. However, most dealers also offered fender mirrors and were mounted where ever the customer wanted them.

The clock one Johnny mentioned is in the new Moss cataloge. It looks neat. It utilizes the same holes the original mirror does (original mirror sits on top). I've given that one some thought. It uses a quartz clock with a black face. No wireing.
