Trying to put in a replacement bulb but I cannot get the tail light off. I've tried using a metal spackle-spreader but no luck. Are there any suggestions?

If you have the two screws out, it should virtually fall off. Maybe someone put sealant on the edge of the lens? Try inserting a 1/8 inch screwdriver, maybe sharpened, gradually putting it in different spots unti it loosens. You could also try to forcefully wiggle it side to side.

Bob,
Many thanks for responding.
Yes, I think you are right about the sealant.
It looks like the red reflector is cracked near the screw hole and someone tried to re-use the reflector instead of coughing up and buying a new one.
I'll get back to report on your suggestions.
Cheers!

I recently was looking at my rear lights after about 15 years; the plastic lens was welded to the gasket. I took a small sharp screwdriver but it took quite a while to separate the lens from the housing. I was surprised as much as you were.
