TR6 Rear suspension droop restraint

I wasn't happy with how the shock-in-coil RATCO conversion relied on the new shock (at full extension) to act as the lower (droop) rebound restraint as it appeared to cause the shock to bind in the swing arm opening, as well as put the rear sway bar mounts in a bind. I'm going to try out using these 4-1/2" long aircraft cables (see picture below) to function as the old rebound that was on the stock shock absorber. The 4-1/2" length is just a guess but will stop the droop 1/2" before the shock is at full extension. Has anyone else tried something similar following a rear shock-in-coil conversion?
