Rear springs

The newly installed rear leaf springs on my 66 MGB seem too high (the rear end of the car is too high by about one and a half inches) - Any ideas on how this might be fixed?

New springs are sometimes high until they've settled...how many leaf's on them?

which direction is your rear spring shackle pointing? Towards front of car or towards rear?

It's a common problem. No one seems to be able to build a proper spring anymore. I am never buying one from one of the usual suspects again, but rather plan to have an old school spring shop build me a set.

The rear spring shackle is pointing toward the front of the car. Since this is a floating setup, it will be pulled towards the front as weight is taken off the rear of the car.

I think you'll find the weight of the car once dropped to the ground will keep it pointing in the direction it is now.
