Rear rubber bump stops removal/replacement?

Okay, I now have everything off the rear end housing (EXCEPT the rubber bump stops)and will be cleaning and painting the housing.

I have purchased replacements but cannot figure out how they mount! I cannot find a mounting screw/bolt holding the old ones on and all I have on the replacements are two holes, top and bottom. I haven't tried brute force to remove the old ones in case I have to use them.

Any ideas on how they are mounted? Are they on some kind of mushroom kind of fastener that I will just have to pull off the old ones and then force the new ones on to this mushroom shaped fastener?

Thanks,

Paul

Yes they are on a mushroom head and they twist in and out fairly easily IIRC
