how do you get that thing off my gearbox?!
its the part the prop goes into with the felt
in it....almost got my tranny done; )
it shifts good but the syncho rings
on the 3 and 4 hub are kinda loose in there...
is this normal? 3 and 4 are harder to slip
into compared to 1 and 2 which shifts easily.......z

I usually use a craftsman screw driver with some persuasion.

I do not recall three and four being easier then one and two. Didn't you replace the one and two, could that be why?

It is important that they all lock in firmly.

If it was put on at the factory one edge has a small dimple in it.

There are 3 kinks around the seal to the tail shaft.
You have to cut off the old seal or pry the heck out of the kinks in the edge of the seal.
The new seal can be kinked back on with a screwdriver and hammer.
