Brave enough to dig into your inner fenders? LOL.

Anyway, some pics of getting the rear inner fender on the '71 ready for new metal.

No worries, just a little hole.

After hitting it hard with an electric drill mounted with a wire brush...

Initial cuts with a large cut off disk, notice a couple quick welds to make sure I didn't lose alignment... (or so I am telling myself)

<span style="font-weight: bold">Good point</span>, I'll make sure it is tied back further away from the work area Jim.
 
I bought one of these from Eastwood and I have to say it has been a big help. Still lots of trimming needed, but it helps get the shape roughed in more quickly than other ways of cutting the metal.

More progress, and yes, I know it is good that I still have a day job... <grin>

Pretty darn ugly, but my patch didn't fit as well as I thought so I had to built the metal up in several places.
