MGB Rear end washers easy

Completed the front end rebuild and thought I would get it on the road. Had parts to rebuild both rear end brakes. So I checked passenger side rear and all looked good. Driver side rear was a mess. Soaked in brake fluid and grime, brake cylinder frozen and leaking.
Moving the axle while brake drum off noticed a clunk then it smoothed out. Each time I stopped moving it and restarted the clunk again.
Decided to replace the diff washers. Used a slide hammer kit rented from advance auto to pull axle and proceeded to replace the phenolic and brass washers. Using a YouTube video "mgb differential repair 1 and 2" it was easy. Took 2 hours leisurely working. Even though phenolics were still present, after replacement no more clunk. Seems most of the wear was in the brass washers not the phenolics.

Good to be reminded that these jobs are not always as difficult as they seem at first glance -- especially for relatively new folks like myself. Glad it solved you "thunk" issues, certainly an easier and cheaper fix than it could have been!
