Hey guys, I was working on my rear suspension this weekend and when I got everything back together I noticed that the drivers wheel is closer to the front of the car than the passenger wheel? There are posts that go up to connect to the axle so I'm not sure how this can be. Figured I'd see if anyone had run into this before.
 
It sounds like you have the wrong leaf spring on one side. Or, is it possible that one side is installed backwards? I can't remember if that's possible, and I don't recall having to worry about this when installing my rear axle.

One other possibility; is the one side just closer to the fender or is actually closer to the front wheel? If the former, it might be some bad bodywork by the DPO.

I removed a spring from each side and was surprised to see that the one pulled from the passenger side had about 1" less spring height in it. I also put together some lowering blocks. I'm going to check the length of the springs on each side of the axle right now.
 
You didn't say what car your have, but in my experience the rear springs for all big healeys do not have a front or a back section. So, you cannot install them incorrectly. However, there is a pin that goes into a hole in the springs and protrudes upwards about 1/4" that is used to locate the spring into the spring plate on the diff housing. If this pin is missing you cannot get the differential housing properly located. This could be causing your problem.

Found that the panhard bar wasn't allowing it to be properly located. I loosened it up and locked the rear end down, I'll be driving it later today to see how it goes!
