Rear Differential Rebuild

I am pulling my TR6 differential to get rid of the clunk and hopefully some of the whining. (maybe that's just me). I am going out of town for work and wanted to have it rebuilt while I was away.
What vendors have people had good luck with out there in Triumph Land.
Thanks

TRF. It would be pretty expensive to ship cross country. You would need a long work project to have it done for when you get home.
If you aren't set on getting your original unit back, you can order a rebuilt one and send yours in as a core.

A rebuilt Diff? What does one of those cost? Just curious. My TR4 could use one in the near future.

TR4 is different because you would have to ship the entire rear housing (freight) and axles to set it up. Rebuilds are usually around $800 +-.

The TR6 breakes down to just the pumpkin, much easier to ship (UPS) but still very heavy.

I just replaced my TR6 differential.

John at Quantum did the job complete for just under 350$

How does it sound, did you notice a reduction in rear end noise?

yes a big time noise reduction in the rear end.
Now I can hear all kinds of other noises! /bcforum/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/sick.gif

thats Tractor Orange Paint!

Tractor orange would make it Allis Chalmers tractor where I grew up.
I have also found a local to Seattle rebuilder that comes highly recommended. Nice thing about that is he is local if it still howls.
Same general pricing. He will inspect and then provide an estimate. Some where between 300 and 1000.
I will probably use him.
Thanks
