Rear crank seal oil leak BN2

I'm in the process of rebuilding a 100-4 engine & the Dennis Welch auxillary rear Main Seal kit instructions say to drill an extra 3/8" dia. hole in the rear main cap @ 33 deg, that's simillary described by swiss, if main cap only has one. Instructions say this update brings it up to later cars.
