TR2/3/3A rear closing panel

Hey guys anyone have a clever idea how to bring the 2 pieces of metal back together on the rear closing panel underneath on the back, and with the slightest changing from an original look?

The back section had been bottomed out, and when I pull it back around with pry bars, the 2 piece separated from the spot welds. I could drill some holes and perhaps bolt the 2 piece back together, but I would like cleaner look with no bolts.

Thanks steve

Which of the arcs best fits the arch of the spare tire door? I would look at getting the outside body panel to match the arc of the door and add sheet metal to the lip of the spare tire compartment to bridge the opening you wish to close. The rubber door gasket will hide a lot of sins.

I made this job harder than it should be, I watched a video about something similar, and in the video the guy welded a screw driver to one side of the separation pulled the 2 piece together and then welded the 2 piece together. This should work, but I will probably need a helper. I Posted too many pictures and made the project more complicated.

Thanks Steve
